QUICK BIO
BIOGRAPHY
Thráin was the King of Durin’s folk for 60 years, from 2790 to 2850 T.A. during their exile from the Lonely Mountain.
During the Battle of Nanduhirion, Thráin lost right eye.
Thráin fled with his father and a small group of companions after Smaug overtook Erebor and eventually settled in Dunland and scratched out a meager living.
Sauron was in pursuit of Thráin due to him having the last of the Seven Dwarven Rings of Power. In 2845 T.A., the Ring was wrested from him and Thráin was captured, tortured and imprisoned by Sauron in Dol Guldur.
Gandalf found Thráin in Dol Guldur and obtained the Map of the Lonely Mountain and the surrounding area, and the Key of Erebor, which eventually was passed down to Thorin.
While Thráin was imprisoned, he died.
