QUICK BIO:
BIOGRAPHY
Legolas may have lived among the Silvan Elves, but he himself was not one of them. Thranduil, his father, had originally come from Lindon; he and Legolas were actually Sindar or ‘Grey Elves’. He is a Sindarin Elf who lived in his father’s Woodland Realm of Mirkwood, and Sindarin is his native tongue. Word has it that his mother was killed in a battle with the Orcs of Angmar at Mount Gundabad.
Legolas is tall and fair, has bright blue eyes that make him a fantastic lookout, and his hair is blonde. He wears the attire of the Silvan elves which is typically chiefly green and brown. Legolas is also an unstoppable warrior.
Legolas was, at one point, attracted to the Silvan Elf, Tauriel. But the complications there was his father disapproved and Tauriel fell for the black headed archer, Kili.

It was Legolas, along with Tauriel and the Woodland Elves that rescue the dwarves in Mirkwood and kill the spiders. Once this battle had been won, he took the dwarves as prisoners and confiscated their weaponry. Upon confiscation, he comes across Thorin’s Elven-forged Sword Orcrist, and takes it into his possession. This is the sword he used a lot in the battle of the five armies.
Once Bilbo helps the Dwarves escape their prisons, they get away in barrels. When Legolas hears about this he leads the Mirkwood guards after them, ending up in a battle with Orcs. Legolas, along with Tauriel, capture Narzug and take him back to their realm for questioning. After Thranduil beheads him, he orders that no one can enter or exit his realm. Legolas goes to inform the guards of this, and hears that Tauriel has gone after Kili. So as a result, Legolas goes after her.

They end up in Lake-town, and just in time too… The Orcs have just attacked and Legolas jumps straight into battle. He ends up in a confrontation with Bolg, who then throws him towards two of his minions. Once his minions are dead, Legolas jumps onto his horse and pursues Bolg.
Just before the battle of the five armies, Legolas and Tauriel head to Gundabad and learn that Bolg is leading an army to join forces with Azogs minions. Soon afterward, Bolg ends up in a battle with Tauriel and Legolas manages to keep her away from death by battling Bolg. Thus, the fierce monster is put to an end.
Once the battle is over, Thanduil sends Legolas off to track down the Dunedain ranger known as ‘Strider’ and to find out what his real name actually is.

In the year T.A. 3019, Legolas travelled to Rivendell to represent the Elves at the Council of Elrond. This was where the Fellowship was formed, and he was chosen to represent his race. It was his keen eyesight and excellence with a bow that made him a great asset to the Company.
It was at Amon Hen that Merry and Pippin were captured by the Uruk-hai, and Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn joined forces to track the two Hobbits down. It was here that they were then known as ‘The Three Hunters’.
It was also at this point, when Legolas and Gimli started becoming closer and became an unlikely set of friends. Legolas was also very protective of Gimli, and when Eomer came to threaten the Dwarf, Legolas didn’t hesitate for a second without threatening him back with an arrow.

At the Battle of Helm’s Deep, Legolas weilds a Rohirric sword, and he enters a contest with Gimli to see who can kill the most enemy. This was a contest that went right through the War of the Ring. Legolas also carried two swords across his back, instead of a single knife in his belt.
After the battle, Legolas and Gimli engaged in a drinking contest, to which Gimli lost.
After the War of the Ring, he alongside Gimli, journeyed to the Glittering Caves and Fangorn Forest. After the death of King Aragorn, the pair sailed over the sea marking the end of the Fellowship of the Ring.
