"I WILL TAKE IT... I WILL TAKE IT... I WILL TAKE THE RING TO MORDOR"
QUICK BIO
BIOGRAPHY
Frodo appears briefly in The Hobbit as he gets his book and heads off to meet with Gandalf before the party celebrations of Bilbo’s Eleventy-First birthday. He is more focused on as The Ringbearer in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
When Frodo was only twelve years old, his parents drowned in a boating accident on the Brandywine River. An only child, Frodo stayed in Brandy Hall, until he was orphaned by Uncle Bilbo. Purely because he was the only one out of all his many relations to show any spirit. Frodo then lived with Bilbo in Bag End. In his childhood, Frodo wandered far and wide around Hobbiton, exploring the highways and byways of the Shire. Due to all the stories Bilbo has told him, he is not as practical as the other Hobbits and barely has the sense “to know a swede from a turnip”, as the Shire saying goes.
Much of Frodo’s youth was spent at Brandy Hall in Buckland, the ancestral home of the Brandybuck family. He was known as a rascal, befriending Meriadoc (Merry) Brandybuck and Peregrin (Pippin) Took and causing trouble wherever they went. They would often steal mushrooms from Farmer Maggot’s farm, Bamfurlong.

Frodo was always fascinated by Bilbo’s library, and by his stories about his Quest to Erebor. He also learnt to read and speak a little of the Elvish language during his time with Bilbo, as well as much of the lore of Middle-earth.
Uncle Bilbo and Frodo share the same birthday. Frodo ‘came of age’ as the Hobbits put it, when Bilbo turned Eleventy-One.
Bilbo left all his possessions, including The One Ring to Frodo when he set off to Rivendell. Gandalf knew there was something about this particular jewel, and therefore set off to find out more about it.
After discovering it was in fact the Dark Lord, Sauron’s One Ring, Gandalf sent Frodo to take it further from Hobbiton than he can, planning on meeting them at Bree. Frodo’s gardener and best friend, Samwise (Sam) Gamgee overheard them and was punished by Gandalf to join Frodo in the quest.
Bumping into Merry and Pippin on the way, they set off to Bree, but not before encountering the Black Riders. Once at Bree, they heard news that Gandalf had not turned up and met with Aragorn.

On their way to Rivendell, Frodo was stabbed by a morgul blade at the top of Weathertop by the Witch King.
When they arrived at Rivendell, the Council of Elrond was held. Frodo chose to take the Quest to destroy the Ring. And a Fellowship was made to help him on his quest. Before setting out on the Quest, he met up with his Uncle who gave Frodo the sword Sting and the mithril coat, which was given to Bilbo from Thorin Oakenshield.
After being stabbed by a cave troll (thankfully he was wearing the mithril coat), losing Gandalf in the Mines of Moria and the Fellowship breaking at Amon Hen, Sam and Frodo set off to Mordor.
On the way, they bumped into the creature Gollum, whose words were treacherous and deceived Frodo, making him turn his back on Sam before the Quest was over.
He was one of three Hobbits who sailed from Middle-earth to the Uttermost West, known as The Grey Havens, at the end of the Third Age
