BIOGRAPHY
Holm was born to Scottish parents, Jean Holm and Dr James Harvey Cuthbert, who was a pioneer of electric shock therapy. He also had an older brother, Eric.
He was an established star of the Royal Shakespeare Company before making an impact on TV and Film.
He is married to artist Sophie de Stempel, a protégé and life model of Lucian Freud. Holm has five children, three daughters and two songs, from three woman. His eldest daughter, Jessica, is the presenter of the ’Crufts Dog Show’. Sarah-Jane played Jenny Rodenhurst Simcock in A Bit Of A Do. Melissa is a casting director. Barnaby acted as a child, but now lives in LA as a Hollywood Club Owner and Harry is a film-maker, most notable for his music videos.
Of his notable roles, he has played Napoleon Bonaparte three times. The first time was in the television series, Napoleon and Love (1972), his second appearance was Time Bandits (1981) and lastly The Emperor’s New Clothes (2001)
Holm was educated at Chigwell School, and later went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
English Award-Winning Holm, was invited to play Bilbo because some years ago, he had played Frodo in major BBC Radio dramatization of The Lord of the Rings.
