BIOGRAPHY
Meriadoc ‘Merry’ Brandybuck, has a cheerful, sunny nature with a mischievous, lively and courageous personality.
An only child of Saradoc Brandybuck, Master of Buckland; and Esmeralda Took, the younger sister of Paladin Took, making him the first cousin to Paladin’s son, Pippin, who was clearly his closest friend. He is also Frodo’s second cousin and childhood companion.
Merry was fond of practical jokes, pranks and getting into scrapes, particularly with Pippin. They also had many thrilling and terrifying adventures as the journey unfolded. Merry also loves to eat, drink and have fun.
He often finds himself in situations where he has to look after people or make decisions that a Hobbit would normally never have to make.

Before making the journey with Frodo, the degree of his experience in the world involved mushroom-hunting, scrumping and pinching cabbages and carrots from Farmer Maggot and other neighboring farms, and spending comfortable evenings in the bar of the Green Dragon Inn with a smoke of pipe-weed.
Merry, the most insightful and intellectual of the Hobbits, joined Frodo and Sam, along with Pippin on the Quest to Rivendell. When the Fellowship was being formed, he, alongside Pippin, jumped out of the tree’s and chose to join the Company. It was easy to tell that Lord Elrond was against it.
It was when the Fellowship broke at the Battle of Amon Hen, that Merry and Pippin were captured by the Uruk-hai. With Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli hot on their heels, the Hobbits managed to escape into Fangorn Forest and befriended the Ent, Treebeard. There, the Hobbits played a major part in rousing of the Ents and the destruction of Isengard.

Later, he offered his services to King Theoden and rode with his army to Gondor. There fighting at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, with nothing but the Elf-knife that was given to him by Aragorn.
While at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, he tried to take on the Witch King (the same Witch King that stabbed Frodo on top of Weathertop), but the Black Breath paralyzed him.
Pippin eventually found Merry, and together they rode with the Army of the West to the Black Gate.
After the battle, Merry was made a knight of Rohan.
Upon the death of his father, Merry was made Master of Buckland and was known thereafter as Meriadoc the Magnificent.
